ALRM Privacy Policy
Key Privacy Principles
- Privacy-First Design: All sound detection happens on your device.
- No Recording: We do not record or store audio files.
- No Selling: We do not sell your personal information.
- No Biometrics: ALRM identifies sound classes (e.g., sirens), not individual voices or biometric “voiceprints.”
1. Information We Collect
A. Audio & AI Processing
- Real-Time Only: Audio is processed in real-time and immediately discarded.
- Metadata Logging: We log the sound classification, confidence score, and timestamp.
- No Conversations: We do not listen to, record, or upload your conversations.
B. Location & Zones
- Geofencing: We use GPS to determine when you enter or exit an ALRM Zone. Location data is accessed by the app to enable zone-based sound detection alerts.
- No Tracking: We do not maintain a continuous history of your movements outside of zone entry/exit events.
C. Account & Device Data
- Optional Accounts: You may provide a name and email for account management.
- Technical Data: We collect device models and OS versions to ensure app compatibility.
2. How We Use & Share Information
- Service Delivery: To activate detection and send alerts when you are in a zone.
- Improvement: We use aggregated metadata to improve our AI detection accuracy.
- Business Zones: If you enter a Business Zone, the owner may see anonymized usage counts, but never your personal identity or specific location.
- Service Providers: We share data with partners like AWS or Google Cloud only to host our services. They are contractually barred from using your data for their own purposes.
3. Data Retention & Security
| Data Type | Retention Period |
|---|---|
| Account Info | Until account deletion + 30 days |
| Alert Logs | 12 months |
| Crash Logs | 90 days |
Encryption: We use TLS/SSL encryption for data in transit and encryption at rest for stored data.

Residents of these states have the right to:
